Renounced Classical singer Shri M. Balamurali Krishna garu passes away @86

The Indian classical music industry has lost its beloved singer Mangalapalli Balamurali Krishna garu at the age of 86 i.e., today. He started his concerts journey at the age of 8 years and gave more than 25000 concerts to till date. He has worked for more than 400 movies as singer, composer, and actor. He was born in sankaraguptam village located in East Godavari, Andhra Pradesh. He started learning music under the guidance of Parupalli Ramakrishnayya Pantulu. His dedication towards music is high that he learned all the 72 melakarta ragas by the age of 15.

His contribution to music has been immense. He has popularized Tyagaraja, Annanmaya and Sri Ramadas keerthanas in various countries. His excellence in music is such that he has created many ragas and notes of his own. He has more than some thousands of students and hero Kamal hassan is also one of his students

His works earned many hearts and result of which fetched many awards like Padma Vibhushan (1991), Padma Bhushan, Padma Shri. He also has his International credits like Mahatma Gandhi Silver Medal by UNESCO, Chevalier Rank Chevalier of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by French Government (2005). He also won 2 national award and few state awards for his playback singing. His musical journey is remarkable and the way he carried on this musical journey with a lot of devotion has been phenomenal and many young aspiring singers should learn a lot from this encyclopedia of music. I am sure India can never ever produce such a legend in the field of music and also it’s very hard on our part to expect such a contributions to come in near future.
