Pumpkin soupy curry (Gummadikay Pulusu curry)



pumpkin, finely chopped onions, chillies, tamarind, salt, red chilli powder, oil, curry leaves, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, red chilles, turmeric powder, coriander powder.


First peel the pumpkin thickly, remove all seeds and cut into medium size cubes.

Then boil them in pressure cooker. After 3 vissels off the flame.Now heat the oil pan, now do tempering with mustard seeds, cumin seeds, red chilles, curry leaves.
Then fry onion pieces and chilli pieces. Add sufficient salt and turmeric powder.

After that add boiled pumpkin cubes , saute it and cover with lid in medium frame for few minutes.

After few minutes add  red chilli powder and coriander powder, mix well and again cover with lid again for few minutes..

After it getting dryness, pour tamarind juice( soak tamarind before one hour, now make it as juice). And add small piece of jaggery for additional taste,( if you don’t like sweetness in curry, just ignore it).

Again cover with lid and let it be boil till we got thick consistency.

Then off the flame. Serve hotly with rice and fryums…
