India is one among the five countries who utilizes waste water for irrigation purpose. India along with four other countries including China, Pakistan and Iran are the ones with most crop land located countries in the world which uses dirty water for cultivation. This involves using of available water resources that might drastically increase the health issues. Currently agriculture accounts for more than 80% of India’s water use. The data from Central Pollution Control Board shows that only 86% of the studied plants are operational.
According to the study in the journal of Environmental Research Letters, the usage of untreated waste water from cities to irrigation has become 50 per cent more than an expected value. Advanced primary treatment (APT) is a useful means of treating waste water which is used in Mexico City that can be a method opted to remove the waste water.
